Last Friday I got another mail from the shop which I ordered the CPU at. They told me that they didnt't get enough Core 2 Duo E8400s to cover all the orders. The next delivery should arrive on May 2nd.
Tired of waiting I decided to order a second E8400 at another shop, and so I did on Friday in the afternoon.
Not even two hours later I got an email in which they told me that my E8400 was sent out.
On Saturday I got it and could finally put my PC together.
I canceled the order at the first shop, don't know whether they have paid back my money, but I will check that soon.
Some pics are included as you can see.
Oh, by the way, tomorrow's my birthday.
Bad news: the CPU I ordered won't be here before April 18th. I'm pissed off.
I can't do anything with my injury and still gotta wait another two weeks.
I also came to the conclusion that 4GB RAM would be a nice thing to have, so I ordered another 2 gigs and Vista.
And since I need a new mouse and DVD-burner, I ordered these as well.
The thing is that all this stuff does't help me as long as I don't have the CPU.
I so hope that Intel will deliver enough to cover the the shop's needs and I can finally get my E8400.
After another week of holidays (only had to work on Monday) the Easter weekend started very bad for me:
I got a rupture on my right outside hinge. Now I gotta wear a splint for the next six weeks and use crutches.
It happened in the evening of Good Friday and on Saturday I went to the hospital. At the moment it doesn't hurt but I have to visit the doc on Tuesday to have a look at it, too.
I don't know how long I can't work yet, but I guess that most of the parts for my PC upgrade arrive in this time.
I changed my mind about the mainboard now, ordered the GA-EX38-DS4 since I found it 15€ cheaper than the X38 one. I also ordered a new case: CoolerMaster RC-690 Dominator Excalade. It offers a lot of cooling possibilities (can take up to eight fans) and is bigger than my current one.
I think it's gonna be a nice - even though a bit late - Easter present for myself.
Happy Easter everyone!
The other photo shows a flower I spotted in our living room today. It looked quite cool, so I took a pic.
I decided to upgrade my PC in the last days, since I haven't worked since March 6th. Tomorrow it starts again.
My plans for the PC are following:
Gigabyte GA-X38-DS4
Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 (Boxed)
Sapphire Radeon HD 3870 512MB
OCZ Platinum Revision 2GB-Kit
BeQuiet! Straight Power 650W
Additionally, I will buy two fans for the case. I also think about buying second GFX card to put them in Crossfire, but I'm not quite sure yet.
It has been a week since my last post, so I thought I could write somthing again.
The weather is damn nice today and I don't need to go to work, so I went out and took a few photos.
The first one was made out of two photos with HDR feature of Photoshop.
If you can't identify the object on the second picture: it's a piece of a corn cob. Some branches and frog perspective in the last two photos.
I almost had to lie down to take some of the pictures, but I think it was worth the hassle.
And it sucks. I was so tired today, it was really annoying.
Actually this wasn't a special day, just the usual stuff: driving ill people around and have some nice sandwiches at Subway. Only the stack of random stuff we could find at the office was new. You can see it in the picture above.
The weekend was passing by way to fast again. Didn't do much: visited a party on Friday and met some ex-classmates to play some volleyball (first time since nine months or something like that) yesterday, which ended in a looong billard game at a bar. Had much fun.
The weather on the weekend was extremely bad. A storm blew over my area and wasted pretty much everything. It even threw a big package through our fence. Now we gotta fix it.
Anyway, I don't need to go to work tomorrow, which is great. This should make the week pass faster. Oh by the way: 58 days to go.
Yes!!! I could stay at home today. But I didn't.
I went shopping with two mates and had a nice afternoon in Munich.
I bought shoes and a simple black leather belt. I had the buckle at home already and just put it on.
One of my mates gave me the t-shirt with the skateboard he bought a few weeks ago, because it was too big for him. I'll give him a few bucks for it.
On the way home I played around with the nightmode of the camera, but only one shot is worth to show in my opinion. Actually not even this one turned out good, but it's quite difficult to take photos out of a moving car in nightmode.
Why can't it be Friday already?
Although I had no work today, I want the week to be over already. My job is pretty exhausting recently.
Fortunately, there are only 65 days left of my civil service. Unfortunately, my monthly income will drop to zero then.
I think I should look for a job for the summer-time. Oh yeah, and a job for the rest of my life, too.
I'm still facing the big question: apprenticeship or study? I tend towards apprenticeship, because I'm tired of all the learning and it will bring me money again.
Another thing that bothers me is the current lack of motives for photos.
I don't know what I could photograph these days. That's why I didn't post any pictures the whole week. I hope this stagnation will be over soon.
I'm gonna go to bed now, maybe this helps. Good night.
...was pretty busy for me. Had to work everyday and it wasn't always fun.
While it was working what terrified me on Monday and Tuesday, it was a cold on Thursday and Friday - yeah, I got ill right before the weekend.
Didn't care about it yesterday evening tho, and went to Munich with some mates. But except Burger King we didn't go anywhere, becuase we couldn't be bothered to stand in line for a club. So we headed back home at around 1:00.
That's pretty much all for now. Can't think of anything at the moment.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend.
Today I was at a tuning shop, which was newly opened this weekend. Not much to say, most cars were not too special, but I really like the Eclipse and the RX-8. Usually I'm a fan of RX-7s, but you could clearly see some signs of use on it. I'd be satisfied with the 280HP tho.
Hope you like the shots.
